Description

The Attachable Hood can be added to most Kakadu drovers coats and jackets. Each hood loop fits between the detachable cape snaps enabling the hood to move with ease when turning your head. Turn the beak up to create a water channel to drain rain away from your eyes or leave it down to cover your glasses.

Oilskin 

Heavy-duty cotton canvas impregnated with oils and waxes which is wind and water resistant yet breathable. It is durable and ideal for outdoor use, with a distinctive rugged texture that ages beautifully over time

CARE
  • Do not wash or dry clean – brush or wipe clean with a damp rag or a spray with a hose if it's really dirty.
  • Rewax as needed to maintain maximum water resistance.
  • To prevent the transfer of oils, avoid prolonged contact between oilskin goods and light-colored fabrics, especially in warm weather.
  • When not in use for prolonged periods, store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the fabric’s quality and functionality.

Perfect

I have an old coat which didnt have a hood so took a chance it would be right colour and fit. Was really pleased it fitted and colour is perfect. Delivery was perfect arrived when it should have. I had my old coat cleaned and re-waxed. And it's as good as news. Excellent quality. Sandra

What's not to love?

I have two competeting thoughts on the hoods for the Kakadu coats. Part of me wishes the hood was integral to the collar of the coat, as one might find with an M65 style field jacket, and the other part loves that the coat is modular, so that you can customize it to your needs. Ulitmately, the second half won out, and I got the Long Rider...and this hood!

The hood is designed for function. It's not some big billowy thing for someone who's wanting one of these coats (and hoods) for the look or some sort of costume. It's designed to fit close to your head and attach to the coat in a way to keep the rain and wind off your head and out of your coat, and it does it well. There are a couple of Kakadu coats that have hoods, but for those that don't, BUY THIS. I'm glad I did!
